New in WJewel: A.I. Model Photos, Side-by-Side Comparison and Shopify Sync

This month’s additions are for jewelry stores. One makes pictures for your website, one helps a customer choose between pieces at the counter, and one keeps your online store in step with the real one.

A.I. Model Photos

A picture of a ring on a hand sells better than the same ring on a white card, but a photo shoot with a model costs a day and a budget most stores do not spend on every piece. With A.I. Model Photo, WJewel takes the ordinary product picture you already have and makes a realistic photo of that piece being worn — or styled as a still life — in under a minute.

One product photo, and two A.I. model photos made from it in WJewel (demo style S1). The model is made by A.I.

Open the style, make sure its picture is on screen, and click A.I. Model Photo under it. Then choose:

Click Generate. If the first picture is not quite right, change a choice and generate again. When you like it, Save to Style Pictures adds it to the style next to your own photos, ready for your website, your social media posts and the pictures you text to customers.

A few things we built in on purpose:

Tip: a sharp picture on a plain background gives the best result, and the style’s description (“14K white gold 1.00 ctw halo engagement ring”) is used as a hint, so fill it in first.

Compare Styles Side by Side

A customer down to two or three engagement rings is holding one, looking at another, and trying to remember the carat weight of the third. Compare Styles Side By Side puts them on one screen.

Put the pieces on the RFID tray and click Read RFID Tray, or scan their tags with a barcode scanner or the camera of a phone or tablet, or just type the style numbers. Each piece gets a column with its pictures and its details:

The screen does the comparing for you. A row where the pieces differ is highlighted, so the eye goes straight to what is different; the lowest price, the largest carat weight and the most in stock are marked; and rows none of the pieces has (clarity on two plain gold bands, say) are left out.

Then tap Customer View, and the comparison fills the screen of a tablet you can hand across the counter, with larger pictures and text and nothing else on screen. It is made to face the customer, so it never shows your cost, and it is read-only: nothing is reserved or sold until you ring it up as usual. It works in the web version and in the desktop program.

Your Online Store, in Step with Your Real One

WJewel has long sent your styles to Shopify and brought online orders back in as invoices. A new Online Channels screen now does four more things, most of them by themselves on a schedule.

Stock counts sent to Shopify every hour

Every hour, WJewel sends Shopify how many of each style you have to sell, from one store or all of them added up, less what is on layaway or waiting to be picked up. Only the counts that changed are sent, so a piece that just sold online is never put back on sale before its order reaches WJewel. And because Shopify’s own Google and Facebook apps list from your Shopify stock, those listings stay right too. More on our Shopify integration.

Loyalty points online

Online orders now earn loyalty points the same way a sale at the counter does. You can also have an online buyer matched to the customer already on file with the same email address, so their points and history are in one place.

Customers can spend points online too. In the customer portal, under Loyalty Points, they turn points into a one-time discount code for your online store. A code they do not use by its last day goes away by itself and the points go back on their account.

One gift card, in the store and online

A gift card sold at your counter can be spent on your Shopify store with the same card number, and a card used online shows its new balance at the counter. A card bought online can be brought into WJewel and taken at the register like any other. Spend in one place, and the balance follows in the other. (Shopify decides which of its plans include gift cards.)

“In stock at your store” on Google

Shoppers searching for a piece on Google Search and Maps can see that it is in stock at your store, down the street, today. WJewel publishes two feeds, your products and the stock in each store, and Google Merchant Center collects them every day. This one does not need Shopify: each store needs a Google Business Profile, and you choose whether to include only styles with a picture, or only the ones you mark for the web.

Quick Answers

Is the person in an A.I. model photo a real model?
No. The model is made by A.I. and is not a real person. The picture is framed on the jewelry (the hand, neckline, ear or wrist), not the face, and every saved picture is named “AI model photo” so you can tell it apart from your real photos.

Does the side-by-side comparison show my cost?
No. The screen is made to face the customer, so it never shows cost, cost codes or minimum prices. It shows the tag price, what is in stock and the piece’s specs.

Do I need Shopify for the online features?
The stock counts, online loyalty points and shared gift cards work with a Shopify store. The Google local inventory feeds do not need Shopify: they need a Google Business Profile for each store and a Google Merchant Center account.

Are these features for wholesalers too?
These three are for jewelry stores. For what is new for wholesalers and manufacturers, see the October 2026 features.

I already use WJewel. How do I start using these?
