What makes jewelry inventory software different from regular retail inventory tools?

Each ring, pendant, or loose stone has a unique combination of metal, karat, weight, stone specifications, certificate, cost, and location — and that detail has to flow into POS, repair tickets, insurance reports, and your website. Can I import my existing inventory from Excel, The Edge, JewelMate, or another system?
Yes. We regularly migrate inventory from Excel, CSV, The Edge, JewelMate, Jewelry Shopkeeper, Lightspeed, Business Mind, and direct database backups (VFP, SQL). We map your fields to WJewel during onboarding so you don't lose item history, costs, photos, or certificate numbers. Most stores are live with their full inventory in 1–14 days depending on size.
Does the software support RFID for inventory audits?
Yes — RFID is fully built in, not an add-on. Print RFID tags from WJewel directly, scan an entire showcase in under a minute with a handheld reader, and the system instantly shows what's present, what's missing, and what's misplaced. You can do daily case audits in 5 minutes and full-store audits without closing the doors.
How does inventory sync between my stores and my website?
In real time. A sale at any register reduces stock everywhere — your other stores, your Shopify or BigCommerce site, and any marketplace you're plugged into. A web order shows up at your POS for fulfillment with the customer details and shipping label ready. No manual uploads, no overselling.
Can I track diamonds and loose stones with full GIA / IGI / EGL certificate detail?
Yes. Loose stones are first-class items in WJewel. Each stone carries shape, carat, color, clarity, cut, polish, symmetry, fluorescence, certificate number, lab, and a link to the cert PDF. You can search by any combination, value the parcel by lab grade, and pull insurance-ready reports.
How does WJewel handle vendor memo and consignment?
Memo is a core workflow in WJewel — both directions. Memo in: receive items from suppliers as memo (not yet purchased), age them by vendor, return what doesn't sell, and convert to invoice in one click when a piece sells. Memo out: let a customer take a piece home or give a salesperson off-floor inventory, with due dates, automated reminders, and full accountability.
Does the inventory software work for wholesalers and manufacturers, not just retail?
Yes. WJewel was originally built for the diamond and jewelry trade in 1987 — wholesalers, manufacturers, and refineries — and was extended to retail later.
