Making a pawn loan
WJewel runs pawn loans in the same program as your jewelry store. Everything is under Banking, Pawn Shop Loans: new loans, payments, pickups, extensions, defaults and reports. Set your loan period, interest rate, ticket fee and loan fee once, and every new loan starts with them. Pick the customer and type the amount. The due date, interest and fees are worked out as you type. Each pledged piece gets its own item number, with its metal, karat, stones, serial number and engraving. Click OK and print the pawn ticket, with the customer's ID, the items, the finance charge and the maturity date.
Pickups, payments and reports
At pickup, it adds up the interest and fees owed and takes the payment. Partial payments and extensions work the same way. Each loan has a statement of its payments and interest, and every entry posts to your general ledger. Mark past-due loans as in default from one list of open loans. And the monthly report totals what you loaned, the fees and the interest.
